This book is a celebration of a noted European shell collector's extensive collection of cowries. It gives us a look at some of his artwork and an insight into the man behind the collection. Silvano Larini is not well known in the United States. But, he is an artist and architect of some renown in Europe. The book shows a small selection of his work and also gives his biographical information. In this book, he is extolled for having assembled one of the largest collections of Cypraea known. Many of his collecting data slips are shown in the book. He kept great records of his finds. Other shells in the collection were bought from "selected dealers" that remain unnamed. The book provides a look at these shells and also includes a fair amount of general information about the shells. I am not too sure how much this book will appeal to my customers, and I have only a very limited supply on hand.
