The first things that draw us to the beauty of shells are their color and the seemingly endless varieties of patterns they have. This book shows that these developments follow algorithms found in nature in such diverse things as dune formation and flu epidemics. This book is of the third edition and the final edition of this book. The first edition appeared in 1995. This edition is the only one that includes the CD that shows the formation of these patterns using computer simulations. It is a used book that shows some wear on its' dustjacket. Apart from that, it looks almost as if it never was used.
