Description
Shells of Britain and Europe
by
Jan
Lellak illustrated by Alena Cepicka
ISBN 0 600 38020 3, ©1975, published by Hamlyn, hardcover, about 4.25 by 6.5 inches, 10.5 by 16.6 cm., 235 pages, a 54-page introduction to mollusks, and about 88 high-quality plates with color drawings
As is unusual for book this size, it has a thorough introductory section covering mollusks. The color drawings that illustrate the species are very detailed and are reminiscent of the high-quality plates found in many antiquarian natural history books. These books are used, but they are in nearly new condition. One copy has a penciled inscription with the name of the previous owner on the front flyleaf.
