"Land Snails of West Virginia" is a book that I have not been able to get in the past. But, six years after it was published, I have finally been able to find a few copies in new condition that I can offer for sale. The book is one that I like very much. Among the one hundred and sixty-eight species covered, eleven are found only in West Virginia, and four are newly described. If you are familiar with Dan Dourson's other books, you will know the quality of this work. One feature of the book that I very much like is that most of the shells are shown in multiple views. There are arrows drawn to call attention to the differences in the shell structure to pin down the identification of the species. The book contains many photographs of the terrain in West Virginia as well as many other creatures that share the snail's habitat.
