"Intertidal Bivalves" is a book that you do not often; this is a copy of the hardcovered edition; there is a paperback as well. It is an excellent guide to the bivalved mollusks found in the Alaskan waters. The shell illustrations are in stippled pencil drawings that are highly detailed. Most of the shells are drawn in natural size, usually with multiple species' views. The book contains detailed information about the shell's characteristics, size, and distribution. There are also keys to help distinguish and identify these mollusks within their genera. The book is a former library copy. Apart from a catalog sticker and on the front cover and spine, and rubber stamps for library identification on the book's cut edges, it can pass as new.
