I have always been a fan of Professor Vermeij's writings, and this book is one that should be read by every shell collector and scientific worker. It explains in detail the "how's and whys" of the force at play that made mollusks in the forms into which they evolved. The copy that I have is used. The dust jacket shows a lot of wear and tear, but the book's body is almost like new. There is an article reviewing this book glued inside the front cover on the continued on the front flyleaf. The previous owner's name is written on the inside of the front cover.
