It is hard to believe that already 6 years have passed since the publication of the 4th volume in this series. This publication marks the end of the set which began in 2008 and was in the works for many years prior to the appearance of the first book. It is the most complete study of the marine mollusks that are found in the Philippine Islands, the place in the world that seems to have the greatest number of mollusks than anywhere else in the world. This volume includes the species that have been newly described since the 4th edition which appeared in 2011 and also contains new records and updates as well. Those of you that are already familiar with this series will not hesitate to add this volume to their sets. As usual for all of the books in this set the photography is outstanding. The publication of this book brings the total to more than 5800 species from the Philippines in the set and these shells are found in almost 300 families. The book and the set are truly a remarkable achievement.
Below is the listing of the families covered in this volume. The table of contents can be seen in the photo illustrations for this book.
