Description
Moluscos Magallanicos
Guia de Moluscos de Patagonia y Sur de Chile
by
Daniel Oscar Forcelli
ISBN 9879132017, published in 2000, Vazquez Mazzini Editores, Argentina, in Spanish, heavy paper covers, 16 by 24 cm (about 6¼ by 9¼ inches), 200 pages, illustrated throughout with color photographs, line drawings, maps
It has been many years since we've been able to offer this book for sale. It has been out of print for many years. We were lucky enough to turn up a handful of new or like-new copies that we can offer. The book is in Spanish and there is no translation. For the most part, anyone familiar with shell books will have no difficulty comprehending the text that accompanies the shell illustrations. The preface and introductory sections will be a bit more challenging for readers who are not able to read Spanish but with the use of a computer translation program ( I recommend Bing translator) you will be able to understand these sections with almost complete understanding. This is an excellent book and it is the only book that covers the marine mollusks that are found in the Magellanic faunal region. The author does an excellent job of covering his subject and given the scarcity of molluscan literature from this part of the world it is an important work for all collectors both amateur and professional. There are 624 species illustrated and identified in this book. This book is a used but apart from some wear on its' cover, it can pass as new
