Checklists of Selected Shallow-Water Marine Invertebrates of Florida
by David K. Camp, William G. Lyons, and Thomas H. Perkins

ISSN1092-194X, published in 1998 by the Florida Dept. of Environmental Protection, Trade Paperback, 21.5 by 28 cm., 8.25 by 11 inches, 238 pages, no illustrations

Although this book covers several families of Florida marine invertebrates the majority of you will find that the first section, on the mollusks and which with the listings and references consulted runs to 78 pages will be the main interest. The Mollusca covered consist of 221 families composed of 646 genera and 1407 species of the 3525 species in this publication. There are no illustrations but the text and the references consulted are double columns. While I have almost no knowledge outside of the mollusks, I can vouch that Bill Lyons has done a remarkable job in compiling the data in this report. Certainly, there have been changes and additions that have occurred in the fauna since this checklist was published, but for the most part, it will be a more than adequate reference work.
