Since it first appeared this book has pretty much been the standard reference work on this large and popular family. Just under 250 species and numerous subspecies and forms are illustrated and make up the text. A new systematic arrangement for the family is presented here (and later expanded see Conchological Iconography Taxonomy of the Recent Volutidae). The specimens are well photographed and the detail is sharp. A used book with a one-inch separation of the front cover at the top of the spine and some bumped corner edges. Otherwise, it is a clean copy with the body of the book like new.
