The Encyclopedia of Shells
with 1200 Examples in Full Color
by Kenneth R. Wye
1995 and 1998, Facts-on-File and Knickerbocker, hardcover with printed dust jacket, 288 pages, about 8¼ by 11¼ inches, (about 22 by 28.5cm), full color photos and descriptions of shells from 1 to 6 species per page
This book is an excellent resource for the general collector and provides at a budget price high quality color photos and descriptions of a wide cross section of marine mollusks from around the world. There are two separate printings of this book but apart from the different dust covers they are identical. The author is the long time proprietor of Eaton's Shell Shop in London and his descriptions are right on the mark. The book includes many rare species as well as the more common ones and is a great quick reference work. Although these are used copies they appear to be completely new.
