This remarkable book has always been scarce and I was lucky enough to be able to find a copy of it that is in new condition. It is a scholarly textbook covering and illustrating the Ammonites of the Cretaceous Period that are found in northern Venezuela. In all these fossils are found in 28 families among 83 genera, and all are described and very well illustrated in this book. Dr. Renz had a notable career as a paleontologist and did considerable work at the Basel Natural History Museum following a long career in many other positions. He did research in Venezuela from1946 to 1959.
