A treatment of the 89
terrestrial and freshwater species of mollusks reported from the
Seychelles Islands. Seventy seven of these are terrestrial of which 69
species are native and 8 are introduced. Of these shells 17 are
indigenous to these Islands. This book give the range of each of these
as well as complete information on the 12 species of freshwater
mollusks that are found here and the conservation status of each of
these shells is given. The basis of this book is a study made for the
Indian Ocean Biodiversity Assessment from 2000 to 2005. This is a book
for anyone with more than just a casual interest in land and freshwater
shells and it gives us a chance to closely examine the shells that
occur in this off shore and isolated group of islands.
