| Seashells of Brazil
by E.C. Rios
1985, Fund. Cid do Rio Grande & others, Brazil, English, laminated paper covers, 328 pages text and also 102 page size black & white plates, mostly photographs some drawings. Page size is 8¼ by 10½ inches(21 by27 cm)
This is a very complete illustrated guide to the many varied forms of molluscan life found in the waters of Brazil. It is an essential reference work for collectors and researchers alike. This is the second of the three works by Dr. Rios and some say that this is the most significant of the three. Although there is no color in the book (the cost would have been impossible in 1985) the black and white photographs and the drawings of the mollusks that could not be photographed as well as the anatomical drawings make this book one that can readily be used. The text is basic, essentially a brief description of each classification of the shells and reference to its' range and size. This is a used copy and it has been hole punched and bound in a loose-leaf binder since the original binding fell apart.
