Seashell Treasures of the Caribbean
by Lesley Sutty, editied by R.Tucker Abbott
1986, Dutton, English, hardcover with dust jacket, 7½ by 9¾ inches,(17.5 by 24 cm), 128 pages, 139 illustrations in color
This book first appeared in 1984 and was published as "Cent Coquillages Rares des Antilles". The title was changed for the 1986 edition that was published in the United States. It is a nice book with an attractive dust jacket that covers some of the more beautiful and some of the more difficult to find shells from the Caribbean. The book is well illustrated in color (139 illustrations) and there is a nice section showing some fossil shells and some Indian shell artifacts. This copy is in about new condition but there are some wear at the edges of the dust jacket and there is a reinforced tear on the upper front of the book jacket. It has a bookplate inside the front cover with inscription to previous owner and author's autograph and noting the copy number of the book. The book looks as if it is in new condition.
