I was very pleased to
come across this beautiful book when I was looking for some titles to
ad to the non-molluscan section of my list. It looks as if it is a
fantastic book and from what I can see, it is quite comprehensive. It
seems that this is the first complete treatment of this interesting
family of echinoderms since the early part of the 20th century. The
photographs are extraordinary and in almost all cases
specimens are shown with and without their spines which makes for a
very help full identification guide. Many of the photographs show the
animal alive in its' habitat and gives us a view of what it is like to
come across one of these interesting creatures in its own habitat. It
is a fairly expensive book, but the prices are in line with what
similar shell publications cost these days and I can highly
recommend this book to you if you want a lot of information about these
creatures between the covers of a single book
