Smithsonian Institution, hard cover, cloth binding with dust jacket,

25.5cm) 191 photo plates and b/w photos and charts throughout text.
I think that this is
a high quality publication that looks as if it should provide a lot of
information for both amateurs and advanced students of this beautiful
branch of the animal kingdom. While it concentrates
on the 5 classes , consisting of 150 species that inhabit the
relatively warm waters of the Caribbean and Florida at a depth of less
than 100 feet, there is enough general information about these
creatures to serve as a good introduction to their lives and
habitats for the better part of the Echinoderm family. The authors are
acknowledged experts in their fields and the photographs,
many of living creatures in their habitats are very well done. This
book appears to be as new but there is some very slight rubbing on the
dust jacket. If you already are interested in these creatures or would
like to know more about them, this is a book for you.
