Red Sea Shells
by Doreen Sharabati with photos by I.A. Sharabati
1984, KPI Ltd, London, paper covers, about 6¾ by 9½ inches (17 by 24 cm), 128 pages include 49 full page size color identification plates, numerous drawings and figures in the textThis book is an excellent guide to the shells of the Red Sea collected by the author and beautifully photographed by her husband. Unfortunately, it is also a rather rare book and if you do an internet search of the used book dealers' sites it is not unusual to see copies selling for very high prices. I am only too familiar with why this book is in short supply since I was on the receiving end of a shipment that contained all of the remaining stock of this book which arrived very badly water damaged. The majority of the copies could not be salvaged sad to say. It is a wonderful book and there is a lot of useful information in it about the unique habitat that is the Red Sea and the marine mollusks that inhabit this area. This is a copy is used, but it is in very nice condition. There is some minor rubbing at the ends of the covers and a very small bend on the lower front cover's bottom edge. Apart from these cosmetic effects the book is nice clean copy.
