The magazine printed articles of interest to shell collectors and it was a widely popular journal.This magazine has ceased publication in printed form in 2008 and will appear sporadically in electronic form. This series is bound in 6 black cloth binders. The paper size is 8½ by 11 inches (about 22 by 28 cm)

This set was collected by an enthusiastic collector who took the trouble to have them bound for his library. Unfortunately the binder must have had a "bad day" when doing the imprint of the titles on the spines since the first four binders appear as "Land & Shore". The last two binders (and I assume by a different bindery) have the correct title. Most of the illustrations in these earlier issues are in black and white but you will also find some color in them from time to time. I the later years of the magazines existence almost all issues were in color and on glossy print paper. So far as I know all or most of these early editions are now out of print and it is highly unlikely that another set like this exists with all original magazines instead of copies. There is some damp staining inside he covers of the first binder and it has spread onto the cover of the first edtion. Apart from that the set is in very nice condition. I do not know how many pages ar contained in this set but the set occupies about 8 linear inches of shelf space.
