This is a book that is always in great demand and it is also a very difficult book to supply. This is only the 4th copy of this book that I have come across in the past 10 years. It is more or less the summary of the work that Powell first began with the publication of his "Shellfish of New Zealand "in 1937. This is a massive book and I would kind of guess that it is the New Zealand counterpart of Abbott's "American Seashells 2nd ed" and Keen's "Seashells of Tropical West American 2nd ed" in its scope but it is a far more difficult book to find than either of these two. In all the book covers 2245 species of marine, land and freshwater shells and 1500 of these shells are illustrated. This copy is just about as new in condition.
