This is the another book in a series of books by Dr. Thach who is making a special study of the marine and terrestrial mollusks in his home country, Vietnam and in other parts of Southeastern Asia. The shells in this part of the world are poorly documented and Dr. Thach's enthusiastic collecting and documenting and sharing with us what shells are found in this region is a great gift to the shell community. In this book you will find 85 newly described species of molluscs and 2 new genera. The author is a Doctor of Oceanographic as well as a dedicated conchologist. He is a familiar figure at the annual COA Conventions and a good friend of long time standing. He also has a great appreciation for abnormal shell formations and shares several interesting examples of these in this and in his other books. The written descriptions of the shells in this book are concise but clearly point out the significant features of the shells and the photographs of the shells are clear. There is a greater number of terrestrial shells than marine shells in this book.
