This book, like all of the works by this author is met with a great deal of skepticism by professional molluscan workers and collectors. But, there is a following for Petuch's works as well. The book proposes a number of new faunal regions and within these regions names a vast number of new species. Later research by others has negated many of these claims. But in the book, you will find many unusual shells and many of these are recognized as valid taxonomic entities. This is a barely used copy that if it were not for some highlighting of certain plate keys, would easily pass as a new book. It is the nicest copy I've had since the book went out of print.
