Although this book was published 32 years ago it is still the main source book for the identification of Murex shells. The book is out of print for a very long time now and the demand for used copies is constant. The photographic plates are sharp but the image size is often small for the smallest shells there are very good photos in the text of most of these shells and also the enhanced drawings by D'Atillio more than make up for this small problem. The text descriptions are highly detailed. This is a used copy that can almost pass as new. The dust jacket shows some minor shelf wear but that is its only fault.
