I can not help but be amazed at the book. When the first edition appeared in 2000 I considered it to be among the finest and certainly the most comprehensive book ever done on the marine mollusks found in the waters off of Japan which extend from the warm waters off Okinawa to the very cold waters found off northern Japan. At the time the first edition had coverage for about 5900 species. This new edition adds more than 800 species to that total. This book is very expensive as was the first edition 17 year ago. Honestly, when the first edition appeared I never thought that it would sell because of its' price. It went on to sell about 50 copies, which places it among the best selling books on regional mollusks that we ever have sold. The new edition is even more expensive than the first but based on the thoroughness and the quality of this work I suspect that it too will become a book that will become a "must have" for collectors and molluscan researchers around the world. We import these books directly from Japan and because of their size, weight and price we will have only a limited quantity of books at any given time. We will be accepting back-orders for this book as long as it is in print and we will fill those orders as quickly as possible.
