| Indo-Pacific Mollusca editied by R.Tucker Abbott
published from March,1959 through Sept. 1976 published by the Academy of Natural Sciences (Philadelphia) and the Delaware Museum of Nat. Hist. (Wilmington) issued as looseleaf sections this set is bound in three hardcover cloth binders, about 1550 pages in all, page size is 8½ by 11 inches (about 20.5 by 28 cm), illustrated mostly in black and white with photographs, maps and charts with occasional full color plates
This is a remarkable set and it is one of the key journals for the understanding of mollusks through the middle part of the twentieth century. These publications vary in length but all are written by the leading experts of the time about the areas that they studied. Some of the earliest publications in the series went out of print very quickly and they are much sought after today. There is some foxing on the inside of the covers and on the first and last page or two in each of these volumes. The bindings are in ivory cloth and show some dust stains. Apart from that this set is in excellent condition and almost each page is as new. This is the first time that I have seen a set bound as books. Almost every other set I've seen is in looseleaf binders or simply loose. Bound like this the books make an important contribution to anyone's library.
