1960 through 1996, (new series #1through #438) Hawaiian Malacological, Society, bound in 7 volumes
I will not even attempt to estimate the number of pages contained in this set but it occupies a shelf space of approximately 12 linear inches (290 cm) The books are sized approximately 8½ by 11 inches (about 22 by 28 cm) Illustration is usually black and white photography but there are occasional color illustrations in some of the later issues.

Every issue of this popular publication from January 1960 through December 1996 bound in 7 volumes in green cloth covers. Probably the most widely read popular shell journal throughout its many years of existence its articles cover a widely ranging spectrum of topics on shells, shell collecting, shell "people" and just about anything else that had to do with shells. The publication was an out growth of an earlier publication called if I remember correctly "Hawaiian Shell Notes" that was published sporadically and distributed almost only to shell club members living in Hawaii. This set begins with what was termed the "new series" and marks the beginning of the periodicals worldwide distribution and the rise of its importance as a forum for shell collectors in the "pre-internet" age.

I doubt if another set like this exists The bindings are in excellent condition and except for some damp staining inside the cover and on the first few pages of the earlier editions these were not printed on glossy paper as they were in later years) the set is in almost as condition.
