Although the author died in 1985 this book was complied and edited by several malacologists at the Zoological Museum at the University of Amsterdam. It serves as an excellent reference work to the two genera of the Pectinidae that it covers and it is well illustrated. It will adequately serve the needs of all but the most avid Pecten collectors. Unfortunately it is now becoming a very hard book to find. This copy appears never to have been used.
