Guide des Coquillages des Antilles
by J-P Pontier & D. Lamy

ISBN 9782912300027, published by PLB Editions, Abymes, Guadeloupe, in 1998, in laminated paper covers that are folded to create flaps inside the covers, about 5.75 b7 9.25 inches, 14.5 by23.25 cm. size,   223 pages, illustrated with color photographs throughout, many of living mollusks in their habitat, and some photographs of molluscan habitation, maps, and diagrams,

This is a nice guide to several hundred species of gastropods and bivalves found in the French Antilles. This book contains photographs and descriptions of the methods by which specimens of Timbellus phyllopterus were bred in a laboratory. It was an interesting experiment and most of the specimens of this rare and beautiful species that were on the market were specimens that were raised in these tanks. The book is in French and it was never a book that was readily available in the USA. This is a used copy that is in nice condition. The covers have some ridges where the lamination process was not completely successful and there are small checkmarks  next to the shell names in the body of the book. The body of the book apart from these marks almost looks as if the book were new.
