No ISBN, Published in 1994 by Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris, France as the 83rd publication in the series on the fauna of Madagascar, paperback, about 18 by 27 cm., 7 by 10 inches, 552 pages, illustrated 36 distributional maps, 194 large pencil drawings, and 46 page size plates with black and white photographs
This is a major study of 334 species of terrestrial molluscs living in Madagascar including the introduction of over 90 newly described taxa. The book is in French and it is very well illustrated with drawings, photos and range maps. Although not so stated, it is probable that many, if not most of these molluscs are now endangered by the loss of their habitat in Madagascar. Although there are 83 publications and 2 supplements in the series on the fauna of Madagascar as of the time that this book was published, this is the only one in the series covering the Mollusca. This is the first copy f this work we've seen and it seems that it may be the only copy in the USA now for sale. It appears to be an unused book and it is in excellent condition except for a few very slightly dog-eared page at the end of the book.
