Freshwater Mussels of TexasAnother excellent publication on freshwater shells this book illustrates and describes in detail about 50 species of Unionidae found in Texas and also 5 freshwater shells in other families. There is a very nicely done introductary section covering the biology of these shells and each species is photographed in black and white and appears in the discussion of the shell along with a distribution map for each species. The color plates in the appendix are somewhat small but they are clear and easy to work with. This book is out of print but I was able to find one new copy to offer here.
