| Distribution of Shallow-Water Marine Mollusca
Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico
by Harold E. Vokes & Emily H. Vokes
1983, Mesoamerican Ecology Inst. & Middle American Research Ins.,Tulane University, paper covers, about 7
¾ by 10½ inches (20 by 26.5 cm), 183 pages including 50 full page b/w plates (mostly photos, some drawings) for shell identification amd 8 half page size photos of shell sites, also map and charts. This is the only full scale study of the molluks found in this part of the Western Caribbean and it is an extremely important book for anyone who is interested in the shells of the Caribbean. In spite of the fact that the publication is now (as of 2009) 26 years old, the information that it contains is still valid and I am unaware of any newer publication on the general molluscan fauna of this area. The plates are of excellent quality and they are extremely sharp and where drawings are used in lieu of photographs they too are of top quality. The book contains 769 species collected from 99 localities. This copy is in new copy of this long out-of-print book.
