This book is among the most difficult shell books to find today. It had a limited printing and very few copies ever made it to the USA. Veillard was on the "shell scene" in the 1970's and will probably be best remembered for making Conus barthelemyi (this species was his passion) available to collectors. This book documents all the the shells in these two very popular shell families that Veillard collected in Reunion. All the specimens shown (with one exception) were in his collection. The photos are quite good and the text is well translated. This is a used book and there are some creases on the front cover. The covers are tape reinforced on the inside front and back to protect the binding. The body of the book is in very nice condition.
