This is one of the most amazing shell books of all times and it was a phenomenal reference guide through out the many years that it remained in print. For many collectors it was the standard reference work and the first book to consult for a shell identification. While the book has now been surpassed in scope and coverage by the 2008 "Encyclopedia of Marine Gastropods" this is still a very popular and very useful title. This book is still very much in demand .This is a used copy but it can easily pass as new. It is still an amazing reference work and it belongs on your shelf right alongside the newer "Encyclopedia".
