Common Seashells of Coastal Northern Queensland
by Patty Jansen
1996, published by the author, paper back with laminated paper covers, about 5¾ by 8¼ inches, 56 pages include 4 full page color plates and numerous full and half page sized plates with black and white drawn illustrations, covers 200 species of mollusks
This book is another example of a book that is small in size and yet conveys a lot of information. It is a very concise guide to the shells most often seen in Northern Queensland and the book is very well illustrated with surprisingly good reproduction of the color plates and really superb illustrations which are rendered larger than life sized and are richly detailed. This book is far ahead of any other inexpensive shell books that you see from time to time. It is an easy to use guide and it is scientifically correct.
