This is one on only a handful of books that I can think of that cover the marine mollusks found off the coast of Argentina. Since this book has been around since 1997, it is surprising that this is the first copy that we've ever seen here. While it is far from a complete guide to the shells from this region it does give you a nice overview of the shells that we most often see from here. The descriptions and the general information about the shells and shell collecting are in Spanish and they are detailed. I think that if you have even a rudimentary knowledge of Spanish and have a good translation program on your computer you will be able to read the book quite easily. There is a claim on the back cover that 80% of the shells covered in this book can also be found in Uruguay and in southern Brazil and that 20% of them are also found in the southern Pacific waters off Chile. This book was part of a series that covers the natural history of the Argentinian region
