| Bulletin of the Institute of Malacology, Tokyo Volumes 1 to 7, 1979 to 1981 edited by S. Kosuge
undated reprint, privately printed, hardcover no dust jacket, 116 pages text and 39 plates, 7 by 10¼ inches (18 by 26cm)
This is an especially valuable publication because of the great new of descriptions of new species that are found in this journal. These issues cover the time period when a great number of new shells were being discovered in the Philippines through the use of deep tangle net to collect shells. This reprint has been done so that the title pages and index for each of the publications appears in the front of the book for easy browsing, the text follows and finally the plates are the final section of the book. The quality of this reprint is not always that good but surely that is because they are copied from originals that were printed on "slick" paper. The text presents little problem and while teh plates have lost a degree of sharpness they certainly can be used successfully for identification of the shells. I don't know of another book like this one. It was apparently put together by a collector for his private use.
