American Seashells - 2nd Edition

This title is by far the most sought after book that ever was done on the shells from both the east and west coasts of the USA and the adjacent regions of the world. It is a massive work and it covers more than 6000 species the greater part of which are illustrated in the text. Unlike the first edition of this book which went through numerous printings only a relatively few copies of this edition were printed. And because this edition is so greatly expanded and revised from the earlier edition it is simply that much more in demand. Although the book is now relatively old it has never been revised or updated and while some of the nomenclature is badly in need of revision this book is still for the most part "right on the money" when it comes to shell identifcation. I try to always have at least one copy of this book in inventory but that is not always an easy task. All the copies that I've had have been used soem very gently and some that have received quite a work out in their times. Prices vary according to the condition and the price that I am listing here is for an average copy in realtively good but not perfect condition.
